Jesse Ball ’00 wins The Paris Review’s 2008 Plimpton Prize

The editors of The Paris Review have announced that Jesse Ball '00 is the winner of its 2008 Plimpton Prize. This annual $10,000 prize is awarded to the best work of fiction published in the Review by an emerging writer. Ball's winning story, "The Early Deaths of Lubeck, Brennan, Harp, and Carr," was published in The Paris Review, No. 183, Winter 2007.

The Plimpton Prize is named in honor of The Paris Review's longtime editor, George Plimpton, who presided over the magazine for fifty years. He died in 2003.
