Telework Policy for Administrators (2021-2022 Pilot)

Following the temporary teleworking prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Vassar is piloting a Telework Policy for Administrators and Exempt Staff during the 2021-2022 Academic Year. The pilot may or may not result in a long-term Telework Policy for Administrators. This policy may be revised or suspended at any time.

Annual Performance Reviews

Administrators, Supervisors, and Sergeants

The Performance Management Process is used for administrators, supervisors and sergeants as part of their annual review. This process requires discussion about goals for the year and provides a framework for mid-year feedback as well as a year-end final review. Communication about accomplishments, goals, professional and personal development is the primary purpose of the review as well as creating a record of an employee’s overall performance.

The Performance Management Form must be signed by the supervisor and supervisee and returned to Human Resources by June 30th. It can be mailed in a sealed envelope to Candice West in Human Resources, Box 712 or it can be signed and emailed to Candice West. If the form is emailed without signatures, please include the supervisor and supervisee as recipients, and state that you both reviewed and approved the form.

If you have questions about this process, contact Candice West in Human Resources.

On July 1, 2021, the 2021–2022 annual goal setting and review process will be in Workday. This will eliminate the paper documents and automate the Performance Management Process.

Staff, Auxiliary, and Security Officers

The Performance Evaluation form is used for staff, auxiliary and security officers as part of their annual review. The Self-Evaluation Worksheet is a voluntary tool that provides valuable input from the employee for when their supervisor completes the performance review. Communication about accomplishments, goals, professional and personal development is the primary purpose of the review as well as creating a record of an employee’s overall performance.

The Performance Evaluation Form must be signed by the supervisor and supervisee and returned to Human Resources by June 30th.

COMING SOON: Effective July 1, 2021, annual performance reviews will be in Workday for the 2021-2022 review period. This will eliminate the paper documents and automate the Performance Review Process. Stay tuned for details!
