I probably mentioned Professor Lliang in my first submission, but I would be remiss if I did not also mention my thesis adviser, Rhoda Rappaport. She was a kind and gentle soul and always encouraged me, especially when I was working on my final draft of my thesis. Teresa Vilardi was my second reader and she struck me as a cool, hip younger teacher. She and Rhoda were always very approachable and I enjoyed working with both of them. Although I did not continue my history studies, it was a great field for my major. I remember being enchanted by the writings of Hugh Trevor-Roper, who brought medieval Europe to life.
