Reopening FAQs

In accordance with New York State Phase-Four Guidelines (summary), the Loeb is open to the general public every Saturday (10am–5pm) and Sunday (1pm–5pm). All safety standards and best practices are being followed for low-risk indoor arts activities. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions, but for more details please feel free to submit your inquiry or question here.

Where do I enter, since the campus entrance pavilion is closed?

Signage leads visitors to the Sculpture Garden gateway located directly on Raymond Avenue, just to the south of the arch leading to Main Drive.

Where can I park, and are there designated disability spaces available?

Parking is available on Raymond Avenue, including accessible spaces.

Are there limits to the number of visitors, are masks required, and is everyone expected to be physically distanced from one another?

Attendance is limited to 25% of capacity (or no more than seventy-five visitors at a time); face coverings must always be worn; wayfinding arrows on the floor direct movement through the galleries in a single direction, while some smaller spaces are closed; and individuals from separate parties are required to remain at least six feet apart—both inside the galleries and in the outdoor Sculpture Garden.

What additional cleaning and environmental measures are being taken?

Separate bathrooms for visitors are cleaned and disinfected regularly, as well as all common areas and surfaces (such as doorknobs, elevator controls, and handrails); filtration in the HVAC system has been improved, and outside air circulation is optimized to the extent possible. (Please note that following the closing of the galleries to the public on Sunday evenings, students typically do not enter the building for more than two and a half days during which the spaces are thoroughly cleaned.)

Are the entrance and egress on Raymond Avenue, as well as the galleries and bathrooms, wheelchair accessible?

Yes, outdoor and indoor spaces are wheelchair friendly. For additional assistance during open hours, please call (845) 437-5632.
