Ashley Fent

Ashley Fent is a postdoctoral fellow in Geography. She is originally from Washington State, and she holds a PhD in Geography from UCLA and a Master's in Anthropology and Certificate in African Studies from Columbia University. She is a human geographer and political ecologist; her research interests focus on environmental governance and grassroots activism, particularly around resource extraction. Her regional concentration is in West Africa, and she has conducted research in Senegal, Mali, The Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau.
