Anna Elashvili Adjunct Artist in Music

Violinist, Anna Elashvili, hailed as “riveting” by the New York Times has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster around the world. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Lynn Harrell, Dawn Upshaw, Daniel Hope and Maxim Vengerov. Anna is a Co-Artistic Director and core violinist of Decoda, an Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall. She also performs with the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, NOVUS NY, and the Mark Morris Dance Orchestra.For seven years, Anna was the first violinist of the Bryant Park Quartet. After receiving her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from The Juilliard School, she completed a 2-year fellowship at Carnegie’s program “Ensemble Connect”. She has been a guest artist at several universities including Princeton, Vassar, Skidmore, SUNY, DePauw, Lawrence and Cornell Universities. Her international travels have included concerts in England, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Israel, Iceland and Abu Dhabi. She has attended Yellow Barn, Perlman Music Program, Tanglewood and the Verbier Music Festival, where she served as concertmaster for several European tours.Anna also teaches at the Special Music School High School, the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program, the Young Artist Program at Yellow Barn and the Decoda|Skidmore Chamber Music Institute.Ms. Elashvili enjoys writing arrangements and collaborating with dance companies and musicians of other genres.

Violinist, Anna Elashvili, hailed as “riveting” by the New York Times has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster around the world. Alex Ross in The New Yorker, wrote “Anna Elashvili all but transformed the early, nondescript [Britten] Suite for Violin and Piano, maintaining ferocious accuracy far into the upper register”.

She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Lynn Harrell, Dawn Upshaw, Daniel Hope and Maxim Vengerov, with whom she performed a double concerto. Anna is currently a Co-Artistic Director and violinist of Decoda, an Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall. She also performs with the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, NOVUS NY and the Mark Morris Dance Orchestra. While serving as the first violinist of the Bryant Park Quartet, they recorded an album which included her arrangement of Schubert’s Erlking which has since been performed by artists internationally. The quartet also collaborated with the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company performing the Debussy Quartet from memory at the Kennedy Center, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and the Chicago Dancing Festival.
