A controversy arose when a mural protesting coeducation, posted in the College Center by the Women's Voice Coalition, was removed. The mural featured drawings and inscriptions that depicted the problems some women felt they faced because of the change. A resolution passed by the Student Government Association (SGA) the same day contained six points, among them requests for "investigation into admissions policy and practice" and for "more direct channels of communication . . . between Trustees and the Vassar Community."
