Iris Brey, "The Intellectual Fracture Around #MeToo in France"

In this talk, the French journalist, film critic and writer Iris Brey will examine how the feminist movement in France is becoming more radical as men accused of sexual abuse remain in their positions of power. Looking at the reception of Alice Coffin’s Le Génie Lesbien and Pascal Bruckner’s Un coupable presque parfait as well as her own book Le Regard féminin (defining the female gaze in film), Brey will analyze the intellectual wars sparked by the #MeToo movement that are agitating France today.
