Come Early, Stay Late!

Planning for Parents Weekend in the Hudson Valley? Consider coming early or staying longer to visit some of the many attractions in Dutchess County.

Arts in the Valley

Come from the east on Interstate 84, cross the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge and stop at Dia:Beacon—the Dia Art Foundation’s renowned collection of art from the 1960s to the present. Take the first exit off 84 after the bridge; go south on Route 9D to Beekman Street. Make a right onto Beekman Street and follow for a half mile; the museum is on the right.

After your visit to the museum, head up Main Street in Beacon and visit Hudson Beach Glass, RiverWinds Gallery and many other art galleries and antique stores for your shopping pleasure.

Antiques are unique

From unique collectibles to specialty foods, and precious antiques to equestrian apparel, you will find everything on your shopping list in Dutchess County. Exit Interstate 84 to the Taconic Parkway north; go 20 miles to the village of Millbrook, where you’ll find great antiques, tack shops, and gourmet dining.

End your day with a relaxing tour of Millbrook Winery, or, travel a little farther north up the Taconic to the Rhinebeck exit and visit the quaint village, where you’ll also find many boutiques, antique shops, and fine dining.
