Metropolitan Museum of Art loans eight major Hudson River School paintings to the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center

Thanks to a generous loan from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center is now exhibiting through February 2009 eight key paintings of the Hudson River School, featuring some of the greatest paintings of Frederic Church, Winslow Homer, Sanford Gifford, and Asher Durand.   Click for full story

Jewish Federation and Vassar College to commemorate the Holocaust. Sunday, May 4, 2008

On Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 1:00pm, the Jewish Federation of Dutchess County and Vassar College will co-sponsor the federation's annual Holocaust Commemoration. The event will be held at the Aula in Ely Hall at Vassar College, 124 Raymond Avenue, Poughkeepsie. It is free and open to the public.   Click for full story

We did it ... and then some!

After setting a goal of $90,000 at the start of the Community Works campaign in November, the final total is in. The Vassar community not only reached its goal, but surpassed it by raising over $102,577! This year marked a record number of donations, all of which went directly to 10 local not-for-profit organizations.   Click for full story

Emma Hartman Noyes House

This year, Noyes House, the last residential hall to be built on Vassar campus, will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Completed in 1958, Noyes House not only gave vertical dimension to Noyes Circle (dating back to the founding of the college - see more on the Circle below), but also added to the development of contemporary architecture at the college.   Click for full story
