Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine ranks Vassar College No. 18 on its 2008 list of the best values among private liberal arts colleges that combine outstanding economic value with exceptional education. Vassar moved up from the No. 20 spot on the 2007 list.
The magazine's annual rankings of the "100 Best Values in Private Colleges" include separate lists for private liberal arts colleges and private universities. The lists appear in Kiplinger's April 2008 issue, which hits newsstands on March 11.
Kiplinger's selected the institutions from a pool of more than 1,000 private institutions, and ranked them according to academic quality and affordability – with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total.
